Northeast Neighborhood
The Northeast Neighborhood is a historic South Bend community known for its diverse residents, rich character, and strong partnerships that support a vibrant future. The neighborhood is immediately south of the Notre Dame campus and northeast of South Bend’s downtown.
Northeast Neighborhood Revitalization Organization
Since 2000, the NNRO has driven economic development while preserving low-income homeownership. Through its Community Land Trust and home repair programs, the NNRO makes housing affordable and helps elderly residents stay in their homes.
Northeast Neighborhood Council
Founded in 1966, the NENC is South Bend’s oldest continually operating neighborhood association. The organization advocates for its residents, promotes community services available to them, and, in their interest, develops partnerships with other organizations and businesses.
The Food Pantry
The Food Pantry has operated out of the Historic Firehouse No. 7, also known as the Northeast Neighborhood Center, for nearly 60 years.
Located at 803 N. Notre Dame Ave., it is the longest serving neighborhood pantry in the city.
Robinson Community Learning Center
Founded in 2001 by the neighborhood and the University of Notre Dame, RCLC hosts a variety of educational programs for all ages and offers outreach that annually impacts over 2,000 learners across the generations.
